Charlie Higson and Friends returns to Scala Radio for second series
Comedian and writer Charlie Higson is back on Scala Radio for a second series of his popular show.
Charlie, co-creator of The Fast Show and author of the popular Young Bond and Enemy series, is a passionate classical music fan. Each week, he’s joined by a fellow comedian and friend to share their favourite classical music.
Charlie Higson and Friends is a four-part series broadcast on Scala Radio, Sundays 6-8pm.
The first episode, which aired on 1 January, featured satirist and writer Armando Iannucci talking about his pioneering BBC shows such as The Day Today and The Thick of It, along with his role as co-creator of comedy character Alan Partridge.
In this Sunday’s episode, Charlie will be joined by comedian and actor Harry Enfield, followed by actress and stand-up comedian Lucy Porter and comedian and actor Simon Day in subsequent weeks. Each guest discusses their careers and their own journeys into the world of classical music.
The programmes will be made into podcasts featuring additional, non-broadcast speech content, and these will be available at the end of January.
