Phil Collins joins Vernon Kay on his BBC Radio 2 Morning Show for Tracks Of My Years from Monday, 3 August.
The legendary musician will choose ten songs that have soundtracked his life when he joins Vernon for the feature.
The conversation will explore the tracks that have shaped Phil’s journey, including music from Stevie Wonder, The Who, Taylor Swift, the Travelling Wilburys and other artists who have influenced him.
Phil will take listeners through key moments from his career, from building his first drum kit with help from his family as a child to auditioning for groups as a teenager.
He will also discuss joining Genesis as their drummer in 1970 before becoming the band’s vocalist five years later following Peter Gabriel’s departure.
Featured stories from across Phil’s career, will include the creation of his solo music and the story behind his much loved track In The Air Tonight.
Phil will also reflect on meeting and working alongside artists including Brian Wilson, Martha Reeves, Bruce Hornsby and Taylor Swift during his decades in music.
Born in London in 1951, Phil developed a passion for music from a young age and began auditioning for bands while still a teenager.
He launched his solo career with the album Face Value in 1981 and has gone on to sell more than 150 million solo records worldwide.
His career achievements include an Oscar, six BRITs, two Golden Globes and eight Grammys, with another major honour arriving this November when he is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for a second time.
Genesis were previously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2010, recognising the band’s impact on music over several decades.
The special edition of Tracks Of My Years with Phil Collins will also be available on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer from 6am on Sunday 2nd August.
