Sienna Spiro shares rise to fame and song inspiration on Capital

Sienna Spiro has opened up about her early songwriting and the inspiration behind her latest single during an appearance on Capital Breakfast.

Speaking to Will Manning, who’s in for Jordan North, Spiro reflected on a viral video of her performing a song she wrote at just ten years old.

The track, titled “Lady in the Mirror”, was written during a difficult time when she was experiencing bullying at school.

Spiro said the song was a way of expressing feelings she struggled to share, explaining she performed it in front of those involved, despite now questioning what gave her the confidence to do so.

The conversation also turned to her new single “The Visitor”, with Spiro revealing it took multiple attempts to get the song right.

She said she wrote nine different versions built around the same key lyric, each exploring the feeling of being temporary in someone’s life.

Spiro described the song as deeply personal, centred on the emotional impact of uncertainty in a relationship and the fear it could end despite continued effort.

She told Will she only felt she had fully captured the idea on the ninth attempt, after experimenting with completely different versions of the track.
