Hits Radio Breakfast reacts to Tess and Claudia’s Strictly exit shock

Listeners tuning into Hits Radio Breakfast this morning shared in the disbelief of presenters Fleur East, Will Best, and James Barr as they reacted live to the breaking news that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are leaving Strictly Come Dancing.
The long-running hosts’ departure took the nation by surprise and Fleur and her co-hosts captured the moment perfectly, reacting in real time as the story broke during their morning show.
“Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are leaving Strictly Come Dancing,” Fleur East announced on air, prompting immediate shock from her co-hosts. “WHAT?” shouted Will Best, while James Barr gasped, “Forever? What the Fandango — are you joking?”
Trying to take in the news, Fleur added: “Tess and Claude are part of the furniture. Strictly is part of their DNA. It’s just so weird to think we’ll be watching the show that’s been on our screens for over 20 years without the two of them.”
James then joked about the future of one of the show’s most iconic segments: “What are they gonna call the Claudetorium?” he asked, before the trio rounded off the moment with a group shout of “Keep on daaannccinng!” echoing the show’s famous catchphrase.
The BBC confirmed the news earlier today, marking the end of an era for the beloved duo who have fronted Strictly Come Dancing together for over a decade.
