Radio 1’s Melvin Odoom is fourth to be voted out of I’m a Celebrity
Viewers of I’m a Celebrity… Get me Out of Here have voted for Melvin Odoom to be the fourth contestant to leave the jungle.
The BBC Radio 1 mid-morning co-host was up against Maura Higgins in the vote during Tuesday night’s show and it was him the public chose to leave.
Melvin’s exit follows his fellow Radio 1 colleague Dean McCullough being voted out on Sunday evening.
When the result was revealed, Melvin said that “it’s good” and it was time to celebrate. As he left the camp across the bridge, he was greeted by his sister, Toyah, who said to him: “You were great, we love you, everyone loves you.”
Speaking to Ant and Dec about his two weeks in the jungle, Melvin told them: “I was ready to go. It’s been a really wild experience ups and downs.
“I love every single person in there. You could spend time with anyone, and they had your back. I had a few days when I was quiet, and they checked on me.”
He also revealed that he surprised himself by learning that he has quite a caring nature and always wanted to make sure camp was ok. “That’s what I’ve learned about me,” he said.
When asked about Dean pulling his weight or not, he responded: “No comment, he’s my boy so I don’t want to throw him to the wolves but he didn’t like doing that job, so he was always doing his own thing, like having a shower.”
As for who his favourite’s to be crowned king or queen of the jungle, Melvin said it has to be Barry McGuigan, Danny Jones or Oti Mabuse and asked people to vote for them.
