Jessie Ware will reveal the ten songs that have soundtracked her life during an appearance on BBC Radio 2.
The British singer, songwriter and podcaster joins Mark Goodier, who is sitting in for Vernon Kay, to take part in Tracks Of My Years ahead of her first ever arena tour later this year.
Her selections include music from Kylie Minogue, Billie Holiday and Prince, with Jessie using the ten tracks to reflect on different stages of her life and career.
She begins with memories of growing up in South London, explaining how Kylie Minogue’s voice was a regular presence during car journeys with her family.
Jessie also discusses Billie Holiday’s influence on her early musical ambitions, revealing that she initially wanted to pursue a career as a jazz singer before her path into pop music developed.
The conversations also cover Jessie’s move into the music industry during her mid-twenties, including how she balanced becoming a parent with building her career as a successful recording artist.
Jessie is preparing to take her music to arenas for the first time in support of her sixth studio album, Superbloom, with the UK and European dates scheduled for November this year.
Before that, she will perform internationally, with dates across Canada, America and Mexico taking place in October this year.
Alongside her music career, Jessie is also known for Table Manners, the award-winning podcast she launched in 2017 with her mother Lennie Ware.
The podcast is recorded around their dinner table and features guests from music and culture, with conversations built around food, family and life alongside a home cooked meal.
Jessie’s appearance on Tracks Of My Years gives listeners another look at the music behind her own story, from her early influences through to the career and family life she has built since entering the industry.
