Emma and Matt Willis talk Love is Blind on Capital Breakfast

This morning, Love Is Blind UK hosts Emma and Matt Willis joined Capital Breakfast with Jordan, Chris and Kemi to talk about the reality TV show.

The programme sees a group of singles entering an experiment that tests whether true love can blossom between strangers who haven’t met. They “meet”, date and get engaged before seeing each other. The, there’s marriage.

Jordan asked for anyone who watches Love Island, why should they watch this show and is it better?

Matt answered: “I’m rolling up my sleeves, the difference is, sometimes I think on some dating shows, the dating is there because the people want to be on telly, whereas I feel like this show is the telly facilitates them to fall in love.

“Everyone loves a bit of love, and you can really see it, you can feel this people genuinely love love!”

Emma added: “I think if there are people in there for possible wrong intentions you can kind of spot them, they don’t tend to carry on, it’s a legally binding wedding at the end of it, so you can’t go “I’m just going to go on telly for a bit”, have a bit of attention, get married, like no.”

Chris asked if it’s a legit wedding and Matt confirmed that it is a legitimate legal wedding, which is different as to the America show: “It’s a proper legally binding wedding,” he said.

Matt admitted that he matched up contestants in his head when filming but was “so off the mark”.

Emma explained: “It was just a wall full of screens, and they gave us some cans, and they gave us a button and we could just push a button and go to a different pod and see what they were doing, listen to what they were saying.”

Matt said: “I started to match everyone up in my head, I was like “this isn’t going to work, but this is going to work with him, he’s going to work with her” none of mine worked. I was so off the mark!”
