Danny Howard to kick off Europe’s Biggest Dance Show on Radio 1
Europe’s Biggest Dance Show will return to BBC Radio 1 on Friday 22 September with ten countries set to take part.
The marathon broadcast showcasing the best of each nation’s dance scene will see Radio 1 join forces with eleven stations across ten countries for a mass simulcast with Danny Howard kicking off the celebrations at 6.30pm.
Danny will play 30 minutes of dance music from some of the biggest UK acts before handing over to the next country.
Danny Howard says: “I’m delighted and slightly overwhelmed to be representing the UK to an entire continent. Europe’s Biggest Dance Show represents exactly what I believe electronic music is all about, connection. What better way to showcase how powerful this genre is by bringing together each of our amazing scenes and sounds for one huge party, probably the biggest party on the planet!”
Aled Haydn Jones, Head of Radio 1, says: “Europe’s Biggest Dance Show continues to evolve and unite listeners from around the world through the power of dance music. This year eleven stations are taking part across ten countries and we welcome Spain and Estonia who we are partnering with for the first time. It’s set to be another incredible night of dance music.”
