Former 1Xtra presenter Dotty “over the moon” to be joining Apple
Former BBC Radio 1Xtra Breakfast presenter Dotty is joining Apple and says that she’s “over the moon” to be taking on her new role.
Dotty, real name Ashley Charles, who also goes under the name Amplify Dot left 1Xtra at the end of July after six years with the station.
In a post on Twitter, Dotty said: “SOME NEWS!!..
“As of September you can find me in my brand new home at @Apple.
“I’m over the moon to be taking on the role of Lead Cultural Curator for @AppleMusic AND host on @Beats1!
“Time for another unforgettable chapter, let’s have some fun.”

In addition to being the first solo female host of the 1Xtra Breakfast Show, Dotty also released her first book last month and is currently working on her second one.
She says that her new position at Apple is her dream job and having started out as an artist herself, having a new role that allows her to empower musicians is incredible.
Dotty’s new job as Lead Cultural Curator for Apple Music will also include hosting her own yet to be announced show on Beats 1.
