Richard Bacon in a coma after mystery virus

Former Capital FM and Xfm presenter Richard Bacon is in a coma after being admitted to hospital last week.

The Sun reports the BBC host is fighting for his life in a medically induced coma after contracting a mystery respiratory virus.

Richard tweeted on July 5th that he was in A&E after getting ill on a plane arriving back in Britain. He said he was taken off the plane in a wheelchair and posted a photo of him with 10 wires strapped to his chest in a hospital bed.

Richard was being treated for pneumonia before his condition took a turn for the worse and had to be put into a medically induced coma, a source told the newspaper.

He now lives in LA working for Fox hosting a television show about the news.
