Radio 1 has announced four acts for New Music Live, returning to Cardiff for a second year this September.
Fat Dog, Lime Garden, THEATRE and Westside Cowboy will perform at Tramshed on Tuesday 29 September, with the line-up showcasing emerging artists from across the UK and Ireland.
The event will be hosted by Radio 1 presenters Jack Saunders, Sian Eleri and Alyx Holcombe, with all four acts having received support from the station.
South London band Fat Dog are known for their energetic live performances and mix of punk, techno and electronic music, while their debut album WOOF. received critical acclaim.
Brighton quartet Lime Garden will also take to the stage, bringing together indie rock, disco, pop and surf influences from their second album Maybe Not Tonight.
Limerick five-piece THEATRE will represent Ireland with their blend of ethereal rock, folk and shoegaze, having built a following through their live shows and releases including the EP Incarnate.
Manchester quartet Westside Cowboy complete the line-up, having gained attention for their energetic live performances and indie rock sound, alongside playlist support from Radio 1.
The performances will also be broadcast on Radio 1 on Wednesday 30 September as part of a special New Music Live Cardiff show, running from 7pm to 10pm.
Jack Saunders said: “I love getting on the road with Radio 1, especially if it’s a sweaty gig with some of our favourite bands.”
He added: “It’s gonna be a great night that once again proves Radio 1’s commitment to supporting local venues.”
