Mel C hints at Spice Girls reunion during Heart Breakfast interview

Mel C has reignited excitement about a possible Spice Girls reunion after teasing that Victoria Beckham could yet rejoin the group.

The singer appeared today on Heart Breakfast with Jason King, who was sitting in for Jamie Theakston, alongside Amanda Holden, where she also played her new song.

While much of the chat was light-hearted, conversation quickly turned to long running rumours about the Spice Girls marking their 13th anniversary with a reunion, something fans have speculated about for years.

Amanda Holden raised the anniversary during the interview, suggesting that such a landmark moment surely deserved something special from the group. Mel C acknowledged the lingering absence of Victoria Beckham from previous reunion plans.

She reminded listeners that when the group reunited for their stadium tour in 2019, Victoria chose not to take part, leaving many fans disappointed she did not share the experience with the rest of the band.

She explained that this missing chapter could still be important, hinting that Victoria taking part in a future reunion would feel like unfinished business for the group.

Jason King also joined in, suggesting the reunion felt inevitable, prompting laughter in the studio as the conversation continued.

Reflecting on a recent personal moment, Mel C revealed that nostalgia has been playing a part in renewed discussions, after several members of the band came together to celebrate Emma Bunton’s birthday.

Although Melanie B was unable to attend, the gathering brought together four of the five Spice Girls, something Mel C said felt especially meaningful given the occasion.

She told the presenters: “If you remember looking back to 2019 when we did our stadium tour, Victoria wasn’t with us, so she has to have that experience.

“It’s so lovely, I’m sure a lot of your listeners out there saw the picture from last weekend. We were celebrating Emma’s birthday. We missed Melanie B, she wasn’t there sadly, but the four of us, the rest of us, were there and it was so lovely.

“It was a big birthday, so you feel very nostalgic. We’re probably closer now than we have been in a very long time and I’m always keeping my fingers crossed.”

While no official plans have been confirmed, Mel C’s words may suggest conversations remain open and that relationships within the group are currently in a strong place.
