Mark Ronson tells Heart it would be an honour to remix Spice Girls
Mark Ronson told Heart Breakfast listeners that working with the Spice Girls would be an honour.
The DJ and producer joined Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton on the show this morning, where the chat turned to his admiration for the iconic girl group.
Jamie asked what he would do if the Spice Girls called and asked for “a bit of the Ronson gold dust”. Mark replied: “It would be my honour. I play plenty of Spice Girls songs when I DJ. I have one that’s very dear to my heart which is 2 Become 1, but I have my own remix and edits to that song, of course, legend.”
Emma, standing in for Amanda Holden, admitted that 2 Become 1 is her favourite Spice Girls track and wanted to hear Mark’s version.
When asked how he’d approach it, Mark laughed and said: “Nothing! It’s the Mona Lisa. I just put a little beat behind it – it’s pretty perfect as it is, it’s a floor killer every time.”
