Amanda Holden reveals new family addition after holiday in Corfu

Amanda Holden has revealed on Heart Breakfast that a new member of the Holden household will soon be arriving – a rescue cat she met while on holiday in Corfu.
Speaking on the show, Amanda explained how she and her family had been visited by two stray cats during their stay on the Greek island.
The first, a “gorgeous black teenage boy” as she described him, quickly became attached to her and even curled up on her bed. The second, a slightly older ginger cat, was equally affectionate and won the heart of her eldest daughter, Lexi.
Amanda said: “I am also a sucker, as you know, for a rescue Jamie. In the villa we were staying in, we were visited by this gorgeous black teenage boy pussy cat, absolutely gorgeous, really long limbed, beautiful, super affectionate. And then he had an arch enemy in the form of a ginger cat that we reckon was slightly older.”
The presenter admitted she had ended up feeding the pair every day, joking that she bought more food for the cats than for her children.
Both were taken to a vet to be neutered before her departure, and while she originally intended to release them back, she found she couldn’t leave them behind.
Amanda confirmed that she plans to fly both cats back to the UK but will only be able to keep the black one due to already having a 15-year-old cat at home, Muffy.
She told listeners she has been researching how to help bond her new pet with her existing cat, even bringing back a fleece carrying the rescue’s scent to prepare Muffy for the arrival.
She added that she is now searching for a loving home for the ginger cat, which Lexi became particularly fond of, and encouraged listeners to consider rehoming rescues if they are able to.
Jamie teased Amanda throughout the segment, asking whether she had really thought the decision through, but she said that she was confident it was the right move, describing the black cat as “super affectionate” and the perfect new addition to the family.
