Manchester United superfan tells Radio X what his haircut hinges on
Manchester United fan Frank Ilett has vowed not to cut his hair until the team win five games in a row.
After 313 days without a trim, he told The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X that he’s finally feeling optimistic.
Frank, who now lives in Spain with his partner and young daughter, explained that the challenge began as “something to do” while taking time off work. “It only takes a little run and then it’s over,” he said, noting that he believes United’s summer signings could make the difference this season.
He admitted he came close to a haircut in January, when United managed three straight wins against Rangers, Fulham and FCSB, but the streak ended before hitting his target. “I’m just praying that it doesn’t go on until next summer,” he joked.
Frank also revealed he’s slightly nervous about the big day when it finally comes. “I don’t think my daughter’s going to like it, she won’t recognise me,” he laughed.
The viral fan’s story has drawn widespread attention from both United supporters and rival fans, with Chris Moyles and his team clearly enjoying the light-hearted pledge. Whether this season brings a five-win streak or another long wait, Frank’s hair is set to remain a talking point!
