Tears from Stephen Graham on Capital over Robert De Niro story

This morning Stephen Graham joined Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby.
The actor broke down in tears during the interview as he talked about his dad being his biggest supporter “They supported me throughout everything” and the incredible moment when he got to tell his dad he was working with Robert De Niro.
He explained that he had posters on his wall, of Taxi Driver, and different actors that his dad got for him.
“And then you ended up working with them,” Jordan said.
Recalling the moment he told his dad about it, Stephen said: “It makes me….want to go on it….
He continued: “I went “dad, you’ll never guess who, I’m going to be working with” and he’s like “who” and I went “Mary’s asked me to do a film again” and he’s like “that’s amazing son!” and I went “yeah” oh…I’ve gone! You know, he proper backed me. And me mum.
“They supported me throughout everything. Do you know what I mean? All the struggles you go through and everything. Me contact lens has fallen out! And he was, yeah, you can imagine it was unbelievable!”
Sian asked if his dad was gobsmacked, to which Stephen answered tearfully that he was, and was also very proud of him.
Stephen added: “Sometimes all it takes is one person doesn’t it. To help you achieve your goal, or to believe in the dream you have. It takes that one person, and my dad was that person. And my mum.”
