Spencer Matthews raises over £511K for Global’s Make Some Noise

This morning, Spencer Matthews was welcomed back to Global HQ and joined Heart Breakfast JK and Zoe Hardman.
Fresh from running an astonishing 30 marathons on 30 days in the scorching heat of the Jordanian desert, in the Heart studio at Global HQ Spencer was told on air just how much he raised.
In the build-up, JK said to Spencer: “Thirty marathons in thirty days, across the Jordanian desert, remember, on sand, we know now you’re an official world record holder.
“But let’s talk about the really really important stuff – so you did this for Global’s Make Some Noise, you met some of the charities that you were running for as well.
“It’s all about the money. Are we ready? Is it time? I don’t think we can make you wait any longer.”
Then, reminding Spencer he’d spent 30 days without his family, sleeping on mats, eating only chicken and rice, he told him: “You have raised… a whopping… five hundred and eleven thousand, eight hundred and seventy pounds, and forty-six pence!”
Spencer’s immediate surprised reaction was “No way” and then he continued, saying: “That’s insane. To be honest, the whole time that I was out there running, the charities were such a massive driver for me.
“And, as I said earlier, the support and the generosity shown throughout the challenge was completely overwhelming. And even just the messages on socials, I’ve never felt anything like that level of support for anything in my life.
“So, I can’t thank you all enough. You know, I see this very much as – we only just finished this, I’m hoping for another few weeks of fundraising now.
“I’m going to think about ways to continue to raise money for these incredible causes and the great work that Global’s Make Some Noise do.
