Alison Moyet to perform for BBC Radio 2’s Piano Room

On his Radio 2 show this morning, Vernon Kay announced that the next Piano Room will be from Alison Moyet.

The performance, with the BBC Concert Orchestra, will take place next Thursday, 20 June on BBC Radio 2, BBC Sounds and available to watch on BBC iPlayer. Alison will sing a classic hit, something brand new, and an unexpected cover.

Music icon Alison Moyet started off as a punk, became one half of 80s synth-pop duo, Yazoo, and released her No. 1 debut solo album – all by the age of 23.

She’s released nine solo studio albums, won three BRIT Awards, been nominated for a Grammy and most recently graduated from university with a first-class degree in Fine Art Printmaking.

This year sees her celebrating her 40th anniversary as a solo artist.
