Paddy McGuinness tells Heart Breakfast about private Peter Kay show
Paddy McGuinness revealed on Heart Breakfast that Peter Kay gave him a private performance of his show before touring.
Speaking to Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden this morning, Paddy told them that Peter rang him before going on the road to pop round to go through a few things.
“He says ‘come round… I’ll talk you through a few bits and bats I’m doing on the tour’ like you know, which you do when you’re writing stuff and what have you,” Paddy told the Breakfast hosts.
Continuing, he explained: You bounce it off people and stuff. So I went around his house and he’s talking through things and he says… it’s only me and him, his kids are out, missus is out.. so we’re having a cup of tea. He goes ‘I’ll do it for you. I’ll do the act.. I went ‘uhh really no need’.”

During the discussion, Paddy also answered Amanda’s question about what he was doing at 18 years old? He replied that he’d been rep for club 18-30 in Kavos when he was younger, but at that time was probably working on a building site.
“When you look back at your life when you’re younger, when you had nothing. You were kind of happier,” Paddy said. “I mean, honestly when I worked on a building site, I didn’t have a pot to pee in. But, I was kind of always alright when I look back on it you know, but I’ll probably tell the 18 year old self really look after your hair,” he joked.
