Hugh Jackman to buy a football team – was he joking on Magic Radio?
Is Hugh Jackman the next celebrity to own a UK football team?
While talking to Tom Price on his Saturday morning Magic Radio Breakfast Show about his new film The Son the actor joked that when he retires from acting, his next career could be in football!
“I am now leaving acting and I am going to become a soccer player,” joked Hugh. “For any team that will have me, as long as I play Wrexham. I just need ten minutes, I don’t want the embarrassing 30 seconds run on, I need ten minutes.”
When Tom joked that he could take up a position at Liverpool, the Wolverine star continued his dig at Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds.
“Anyone can buy a Wrexham or Bournemouth,” he said. “That’s what I will do, I will buy a Liverpool or Man U. Man U is up for sale right? Michael B Jordan, I was with him last night because he has now bought Bournemouth, I’m like everyone’s buying football teams.”
Tom suggested that owners of football teams should also play and Hugh agreed, saying that they should play at least ten times a year.
So that’s football sorted, so what’s next?!!
