Matt Lucas reveals on Radio 2 he’s writing with David Walliams again

Appearing on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show this morning, Matt Lucas confirmed that he’s writing with David Walliams again.

In early December, Matt teased a new ‘writing’ project on social media alongside a picture of him and David together.

He recently quit as a host on The Great British Bake Off as he couldn’t present while working on his other projects.

Speaking to Zoe on BBC Radio 2, Matt said: “Me and David Walliams have started writing together again. We just thought it was time, so we quit our jobs and decided to do that.”

The pair got together last week to do some brainstorming and came up with an idea for a new show, but need to do a few more sessions first.

“We know what we want the show to be, what the concept of it is, Matt said to Zoe. “We’re really excited about it. It will be a show with us playing lots of characters. But we have to write the treatment for it and we have to go and pitch it and see if anyone wants to make it.

“But if someone wants to make it, we’ll be thrilled to do it,” he added.
