Sam Thompson loses it jumping from a plane in aid of Hits Radio’s Cash for Kids Day
Made in Chelsea star and Hits Radio presenter Sam Thompson is seen tackling his fears, as he takes on the challenge of skydiving from an airplane.
Meanwhile, Fleur East broadcast her Hits Radio Breakfast show from Wales on Friday as she took on the challenge of climbing Snowdon.
The presenters have been taking on the feats in order to raise money for Cash for Kids Day, the annual appeal from Cash for Kids to raise funds for vulnerable UK families in need right now.

Due to the increase in the cost of living, many families are now reaching crisis point and are facing the very real choice of whether to ‘heat or eat’. The Cash for Kids Day appeal responds directly to their needs, raising money in order to support families with the very real and immediate need to pay for their energy bills, food costs, toiletries, clothing, and other basic essentials for their children.
Across the month already, Hits Radio has been encouraging listeners to participate in the 5K a day in May, a fundraising initiative which you can tackle however you choose – be it walking, running, swimming, cartwheeling, or hopping. Setting their own challenge and encouraging friends, family and colleagues sponsor them.
Hits Radio Drivetime hosts, Gemma Atkinson and Mike Toolan were also up for a challenge – not as scary as Sam’s but very tiring – they walked up the steps of the Blackpool Tower! See how they got on in the video below:

Speaking about Cash for Kids Day, Hits Radio Breakfast host Fleur East said: “It’s been amazing to see so many people get involved in fundraising for Cash for Kids again this year to help the most vulnerable in our community.
“With energy and fuel prices soaring, benefit system changes and the post-Covid impact, the world has become an incredibly difficult place for many of the families we support, and we really want to be able to help make a difference.
“Just by donating £5, you can help a family not have to make that difficult choice between heating or eating. Together, we can make great things happen!”
