Radio 2 offers you a chance to be VIP at Camp Bestival
On her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning, Zoe Ball offered listeners “the chance of winning the staycation of a century at this summer’s Camp Bestival”.
Zoe said: “We’ve sorted out VIP tickets to the festival – for either a family of 2 adults and up to 4 kids, or a ticket for you and 3 mates – to stay at Lulworth Castle, on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.
“You’ll spend 4 nights sleeping under the stars in a luxury Tipi in the premium Backstage Camping area, from Thursday the 29 of July to Sunday the 1 of August.”
The winners will also hang out with Jo Whiley and Sara Cox as they host their shows live from the event, plus they will join Saturday night headliner, Fatboy Slim, for a cuppa on top of Lulworth Castle!
In addition to Fatboy Slim, the line-up includes Kelis, Groove Armada, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, The Sugarhill Gang and many more. And it’s Cbeebies heaven for the kids who can see Dick and Dom, Mister Maker, Andy and the Odd socks, Sam and Mark and the legend that is Mr Tumble!
Zoe spoke to one of the festival hosts, Rob da Bank and asked how he felt the moment he found out that Camp Bestival would be happening this year?
Rob said: “I think the whole festival and live industry were a bit taken aback maybe with the timeline so, yeah, I mean it’s just incredible news… the whole team has got a new lease of life.
“We’ve been sat on our hands for over a year this whole festival industry, so we need it, we need this to happen and I know that people out there want it to happen.”
When asked by Zoe what the coolest thing in the prize package is, Rob answered: “Well, you’re going to get properly wined and dined… I think the highlight… to get that old chap, Norman Cook, to take you up to the top of Lulworth Castle and have a cup of tea up there and just look out over the whole site, you can see the Jurassic Coast up there, the hills down to the channel so, yeah, I think that might be one of the highlights.”
The competition is a Text To Win prize which will be raising money for this year’s Comic Relief and you can find the details here.
