Former KISS DJ Charlie Powell joins Capital

DJ and producer Charlie Powell is to be the new host of The Capital Weekender, Saturdays and Sundays 1.30am – 5am and will also host Monday afternoons 4pm – 7pm on Capital Dance.

The former KISS and KISS FRESH host will be on-air across the Capital network from tomorrow and on Capital Dance on Monday.

Charlie Powell said: “I’m so excited to be joining the Capital family. It hasn’t sunk in yet, but it’s a dream come true. My passion is always playing the biggest and best dance music for everyone and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to do this on the Capital Weekender & Capital Dance! I can’t wait to get started!”

Charlie started in radio at London youth station Roundhouse Radio and then at KISS she hosted weekend early breakfast and weekend afternoons on KISS FRESH.

Other schedule change at Capital include rising star Kamilla Rose joining the station to host Sunday nights 10pm – 1am, The Capital Evening Show with Jimmy Hill extends to Sunday – Thursday 7pm – 10pm from this Sunday and Niall Gray is taking over the Saturday 4pm – 7pm slot in addition to his Sunday 12pm – 4pm show.
