Radio 1’s Dev is on his way to Heart to host Saturday afternoons

Dev Griffin is joining Heart in January to host the Saturday afternoon show from 12pm – 4pm.

The move follows Dev’s announcement last month that he was leaving BBC Radio 1 on 20 December after 11 years, saying that he was ready for new challenges.

He’d been at the BBC since 2002, when he joined for the start of 1Xtra, then moved to Radio 1 in 2009.

Dev’s debut on Heart will be on Saturday 2 January, when he launches his new show, he says: “What a way to start the year with a brand-new show on Heart!

“I’m super excited to be part of the Global family and I think I’ll fit in perfectly with Heart’s feel-good uplifting vibes. This is a big move for me and I can’t wait to get started.”

Andy Everett, Managing Editor of Heart, said: “Dev is a huge talent and we’re over the moon to welcome him to Heart. He brings a fresh new sound to weekends on Heart and I’m sure our listeners will instantly connect with him.
