West End and Broadway star Samantha Barks is joining Heart Musicals to host a brand new Saturday afternoon show.
The actor and singer will take over the 12pm to 3pm slot every Saturday, bringing her love of musical theatre to listeners alongside songs, stories and memories from her career.
Samantha is known for starring in productions including Les Misérables, Frozen and Cabaret, and will share some of her favourite songs from the biggest West End, Broadway and movie musicals.
The new show will also feature exclusive Heart Musicals Acoustic performances, offering intimate, stripped back versions of well known musical theatre songs.
Samantha will also introduce a new feature called First, Last, Fave, inviting listeners to share the first musical they ever saw, the last one they watched and their all time favourite.
Speaking about the new show, Samantha Barks said: “We’re going to be doing this every Saturday 12 till 3 and if you love musicals as much as me, then make sure you’re with me every weekend!”
She added: “We’ll hear from the stars, bring you the latest musical theatre news and have loads of your messages throughout the show too!”
Samantha said she wants listeners to help shape the programme, describing it as “our stagey little corner where we can be musical nerds together”.
The appointment comes as Samantha prepares for another major musical theatre role, following the announcement at Disney’s D23 Fan Event that she will star in The Greatest Showman.
The new musical is due to open at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in spring 2027, adding another high profile stage production to her career.
