Jamie Miller has hinted that his viral hit Babydoll could feature in the second series of Off Campus.
The singer joined Jordan, Chris Stark and Sian Welby on Capital Breakfast to discuss his recent success, his time on The Voice and the advice he received from mentor Jennifer Hudson.
Jamie finished third on The Voice and revealed that Jennifer Hudson has continued to support him throughout his career, with one piece of advice proving particularly important as his music has reached a wider audience.
Asked by Chris Stark whether Jennifer had been in touch since Babydoll was released, Jamie said: “She’s kept in touch with me since The Voice. She’s such a beautiful human. She’s been a mentor throughout my career.”
He also explained how a lesson from her, shared when he was first starting out, had stayed with him over the years.
“She actually taught me all those years ago that if you don’t believe in yourself, no one’s going to believe in you,” he said.
Jamie added that he had carried the advice with him throughout the last nine years, but had particularly put it into practice this year as his career continued to develop.
However, it was the possibility of Babydoll appearing in Off Campus that brought another intriguing moment during the Capital Breakfast conversation.
Sian Welby asked the singer whether he could make a cameo in the series, prompting Jamie to hint that discussions were already taking place.
“Ahhhhh, listen. The conversations are being had right now but that’s all I’m saying!” he replied, before adding: “Capital exclusive, baby!”
His comments offer a potential clue about the connection between the song and the much anticipated second series, although he stopped short of confirming whether the track will appear.
For now, fans will have to wait to discover whether Babydoll makes it into Off Campus, but Miller’s response suggests the possibility is being discussed.
