Carol Vorderman gets stuck in lift during BBC Radio Wales Show

Listeners to BBC Radio Wales heard Carol Vorderman broadcasting live while stuck in a hotel lift yesterday.

Earlier, Carol had been broadcasting her show from the Angel Hotel in Cardiff. She got into the lift with her production crew and Welsh rugby’s Ian Gough, just before the Six Nations Wales Vs France tournament, when they got stuck.

Luckily, they had their broadcasting equipment and a camera with them, so were able to go live on-air and to film what was happening, with Carol telling listeners: “Goffy and I are actually stuck in a lift with a Frenchman.” The man responded by saying hello!

Ian Gough then added: “If the manager of the Angel Hotel is listening to this can you help us? Get a tin opener or something. Because it’s only a small lift.”

They didn’t miss the match though, because thankfully they were freed after 40 minutes and were able to continue on to Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium to watch the game.

After her ordeal, Carol tweeted that she’d arrived at the game, adding: “but earlier was HILARIOUS…. Radio show started well from iconic Angel Hotel @bbcradiowales..with Welsh legends @VanGough4 and James Hook.

She also added: “And then we got stuck in the lift…Omg…we had to do our last radio link LIVE FROM THE STUCK LIFT…Just hilarious…me and @VanGough4, and a random Frenchman @bbcradiowales. We were there for 40 minutes…omg cried laughing…so hot Goughy started stripping.”
