Tasha Ghouri opens up about online trolling in Hits Radio interview

Strictly star Tasha Ghouri has spoken emotionally about the impact of online trolling, revealing it once left her questioning whether she should continue working in the public eye.

In an International Women’s Day special interview with Fleur East on Hits Radio, Ghouri described how negative comments online became overwhelming during the past year.

The conversation was recorded in partnership with The King’s Trust and supports the charity’s Change A Girl’s Life campaign.

Speaking candidly, Tasha admitted the criticism still affects her despite several years in the spotlight.

“It’s tough. Last year was actually the hardest year for that. I don’t want to get emotional… sorry. It still gets to me,” she said.

She added: “I’ve been three years in the industry and it still gets to me. I see comments of ableism to this day. Last year was the hardest. I lost myself completely. I was in the depths, and it got to the point where I stopped loving what I was doing.”

Tasha also reflected on a difficult period in her personal life, explaining that a public break-up added to the pressure she was already experiencing.

She told Fleur that rebuilding her confidence and rediscovering her happiness took time.

“I had to really try and find my happiness again, which I have now. I’ve got an amazing partner, Cam, and I truly feel like I’m radiating from inside because I had to go through that battle with trolls online,” she said.

The model and television personality finished by encouraging greater kindness on social media.

“Kindness is free and I think people forget that,” she added.
