Sara Cox radio interview to feature in Red Nose Day special Amandaland

A special Red Nose Day sketch from Amandaland will see Sara Cox interviewing a line-up of famous Amandas as part of Comic Relief: Funny for Money.

The exclusive sketch sees Amanda, played by Lucy Punch, and Anne, played by Philippa Dunne, invited to Broadcasting House for a live radio interview with Sara Cox.

Things quickly spiral into chaos when the pair unexpectedly encounter a group of well-known Amandas during their visit.

Among those appearing are Amanda Holden, Amanda Lamb, Amanda Barrie, Amanda Byram, and Amanda Collier, all getting caught up in the comedy mix-ups.

Also joining the sketch are Lydia West as Sara Cox’s overwhelmed radio producer and Lucia Keskin as the production runner.

The short comedy promises misunderstandings, slapstick moments and plenty of confusion as the fictional world of Amandaland meets the real BBC radio studio.

Viewers will also be able to see behind the scenes of the sketch during The One Show on 19 March from 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The full Comic Relief night, titled Comic Relief: Funny for Money, will be broadcast live from MediaCityUK in Salford on 20 March from 7pm on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.

For the first time, the programme will also be streamed live on the official BBC YouTube channel.
