Niall Horan guest hosts Capital Breakfast for St Patrick’s Day special
This morning, Niall Horan joined Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark, and Sian Welby to guest host a St Patrick’s Day edition of the show.
During the show, Horan spoke about his new single Dinner Party, which is due for release on Friday, revealing it is inspired by meeting his girlfriend Amelia Woolley.
He said the dinner party that brought them together “shaped the next six years of his life and hopefully the rest of it” and hinted the whole album is inspired by their relationship.
He described the writing process, recalling a week in Surrey spent with his producers and writers, during which Dinner Party became the track that set the theme for the entire album.
Niall admitted the moment he met Amelia at the dinner party was immediate: “When you know you know.”
The guest host also reflected on performing at The White House for President Joe Biden on St Patrick’s Day, calling it “a shock to the system.” He recalled the small room, 150 dignitaries, and the president’s proximity to the stage, describing it as “an honour” despite the awkwardness.
Listeners were treated to a mix of personal stories, behind-the-scenes insights, and light-hearted conversation, alongside Niall enjoying a Guinness in keeping with the St Patrick’s Day celebrations and a chat about accents.
