Marvin Humes is the new weekday afternoon host on Hits Radio

Marvin Humes is joining Hits Radio as the station unveils a series of schedule changes.

Before taking over the afternoon show, on 6 April he’ll be hosting a Bank Holiday special on the station from 4pm, where he will reveal the Number One in the Hits Radio Top 300 Countdown.

From 13 April, Humes will take over the weekday afternoon slot from 1 – 4pm, bringing his mix of music and celebrity interviews to listeners.

His first full show will feature chat with the BRITs and MOBO award winning Olivia-Dean, also available on the Rayo.

Marvin said he is excited to join the station, praising its mix of current hits and throwbacks, while also confirming he will continue hosting a new Sunday show, 4pm – 7pm, on KISSTORY.

As part of the changes, current afternoon host Hattie Pearson will move to KISSTORY mornings, presenting a new 10am – 1pm show focused on old school and anthems from Bauer’s Manchester studios.

Paul Gerrard said Marvin brings “genuine star quality” and is a strong fit for the Hits Radio audience, while also praising Hattie’s contribution and new role within the group.

The update also confirms that Harriet Rose will leave KISS after six years, with her final show airing on 5 April.

During her time at the station, she interviewed major names including Paul Rudd, Lizzo, Dwayne Johnson, Jamie Foxx and Charli XCX.

Paul Gerrard added: “We’re sorry to be saying goodbye to Harriet Rose who has been such an incredible part of the KISS story, but wish her well with all the exciting plans she has coming up.”
