Jenny Powell to replace Martin Kemp on Greatest Hits Radio Mix Tape show

Jenny Powell is taking over hosting the Mix Tape show on Greatest Hits Radio as Martin Kemp has decided to step down.

She takes over as Martin focuses on his live Back to the 80s shows this summer.

Martin said: “I’ve had an incredible run on Greatest Hits Radio but it’s time to let someone else share their Mix Tapes with the nation.

“I’ve got a busy year ahead with my Back to the 80s live shows, so now is the right time to step back and I know I’m leaving the listeners in safe hands with Jenny.”

Jenny, previously a weekend Breakfast Club presenter, said: “I’m so excited! I’ve loved waking up with the Breakfast Club listeners on weekend mornings. But time for a change.

“I’m going to be swapping my early morning alarm calls and turning up the volume on Friday and Saturday nights for the iconic Mix Tape show!

“Can’t wait to share the music and big energy with everyone!”

Content Director Andy Ashton thanked Martin for five years of weekend shows and confirmed he will remain involved with future station projects. He added that Jenny’s energy and experience would ensure the Mix Tape shows continue to engage listeners.

Jenny Powell’s Mix Tape will air every Friday and Saturday night from 7pm from 10 April.
