Myleene Klass has reached 20 years on air at Classic FM.
The broadcaster joined the station in February 2006 and is marking the milestone this week with a cake and a surprise performance from colleagues.
Members of The National Youth Orchestra sang ‘Come on Myleene’ to the tune of ‘Come on Eileen’ during the celebration.
Over two decades, Myleene has presented a range of programmes on the station. She began with Sunday Breakfast and now hosts Calm Classics every Friday and Saturday from 10pm. She also co-hosts the Classic FM Live concerts at the Royal Albert Hall.
Alongside her work on Classic FM, Myleene presents on its sister station Smooth.
Reflecting on the anniversary, Myleene Klass said: “Celebrating 20 years with Classic FM feels utterly surreal. From my very first broadcast, I’ve wanted to share the joy and comfort that classical music brings, and I’m still thrilled every time a listener tells me they’ve discovered a new favourite piece.”
She added: “My passion has always been to make this music accessible to everyone – no matter who you are. I’m proud of how we’ve opened doors, supported music education and encouraged the next generation of musicians to dream big, practise hard and play on. Here’s to the next 20 years!”
Myleene’s tenure has seen her become one of the station’s best known voices, regularly fronting concerts and evening programming as part of Classic FM’s schedule.
