Gordon Ramsay admits on Hits Radio he hasn’t watched new Netflix series
Gordon Ramsay surprised Hits Radio listeners this morning after revealing he has not watched his own new television series.
The Michelin starred chef joined Fleur East, Will Best and James Barr live on Hits Radio Breakfast, where conversation quickly turned to his latest Netflix project.
The six-part documentary follows Ramsay across six months as he prepares to launch five new culinary experiences inside London’s landmark 22 Bishopsgate development, while balancing family life alongside growing business commitments.
Despite being the focus of the programme, Ramsay admitted he deliberately avoids watching himself on screen.
He said: “I’ll be honest, I haven’t seen it because I never want to be that sort of little delicate, dainty soul that wants to obsess on how he looks, how he comes across.”
The series offers rare behind the scenes access to both Ramsay’s professional world and home life, showing him managing major restaurant openings while raising six children with wife Tana.
Reflecting on the scale of the project, he told the presenters: “This has been the most challenging twelve months of our entire lives. Huge commitments in terms of Bishopsgate and attempting a project of that magnitude. I trust, and sometimes that’s my problem. I trust too easy, I think.”
The interview also turned personal as Ramsay discussed daughter Holly’s recent wedding to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, admitting he became emotional during the ceremony.
“Yeah, it’s just that amazing moment when you see your little girl just become an incredible woman,” he said, before joking that the scale of the floral arrangements also contributed to his tears.
Ramsay revealed the flowers were later donated to local hospices and churches following the celebration.
Offering typically direct advice to Best about his two-year engagement, Ramsay prompted laughter in the studio with his blunt encouragement to set a wedding date sooner rather than later.
The chef also spoke about parenting and whether he moderates his famously strong language at home, explaining that while occasional “naughty words” slip out, he believes children benefit from honesty rather than being shielded from real life.
