Kylie Minogue joined Scott Mills to co-host on BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show on Friday morning.
The festive takeover saw Kylie live in the studio alongside Michael Palin and Greg Davies, as the programme delivered a Christmas crackers edition of Big Guest Friday.
Kylie had everyone on their feet during the show, dancing along to her Christmas track ‘XMAS’. During the broadcast, she teased that new music could be on the horizon, revealing she already has ideas taking shape.
Reflecting on the year so far, she told Scott that she is not quite ready to rush ahead creatively but hinted that inspiration is already building.
“Hang on we haven’t got through this year,” Kylie said. “Probably. I mean I need to have a little… moment. Just a moment to reflect on this year. But yes there may be some voice notes in my phone and some tracks and some ideas.”
The conversation moved to Christmas office parties, with Scott jokingly suggesting Kylie had never experienced one. Kylie admitted she has always been curious about what happens at traditional office celebrations, even if her version looks very different.
The pair also revisited Kylie’s comments about Margot Robbie potentially portraying her in a future biopic, after Scott revealed Margot’s surprised reaction when the idea was mentioned on the show earlier this year. Kylie laughed off the suggestion, while acknowledging why Margot’s name came to mind.
“Oh she is such a doll,” Kylie said. “I have been asked again and again, who would you have play you? And I normally just skirt around the subject and that particular day I was like I am just going say Margot. So, I don’t believe for a second that in any realm this is possible because she is Margot Robbie.”
Another festive near miss was also revealed, as Kylie explained how she almost performed E17’s ‘Stay Another Day’ during her Royal Albert Hall Christmas show. The idea, which would have included fake white fur outfits and the iconic jacket, was ultimately shelved due to an already packed production.
“You know what I nearly did that song when I performed at the Royal Albert Hall for my Christmas show,” Kylie said. “We were all going to be in fake white furs. I had too much going on though, so couldn’t fit it in… you know it’s on the list.”
Kylie also reflected on recording ‘100 Degrees’ with her sister Dannii Minogue and why they chose to release a track celebrating a warm Christmas back in 2015.
The appearance follows Kylie’s recent visit to Scott Mills’ Breakfast Show last month, when she exclusively debuted ‘XMAS’ on Radio 2.
She also revealed at the time that the only festive prop she took on tour was a Christmas stocking, the same one she used while recording her CBeebies Bedtime Story, The Australian Twelve Days of Christmas.
Kylie’s Christmas run continues this weekend, with a performance on Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday.
