Leigh Francis’ wife reveals surprising Britney Spears bikini wax story
Leigh Francis and his friends Emma Bunton, Jade Jones, and Jill Carter joined Jamie Theakston on Heart Breakfast this morning to discuss their new video-first podcast, Unlikely Friends.
The discussion ended up sharing some hilarious behind-the-scenes stories from their celebrity lives.
Unlikely Friends, produced by Global Studios, is a new podcast that celebrates a 20-year friendship between the four of them.
The show invites listeners into the chaotic joy of four friends who just “clicked,” offering candid anecdotes and plenty of laughter along the way.
During the interview, Emma Bunton recounted one of her most memorable escapades with the paparazzi.
“I once wore a fancy dress to avoid the paparazzi!” she said. Jade Jones immediately teased her: “Coming out of a party, I remember! You were hammered!” Emma corrected him with a grin: “Excuse me, we like to say tipsy!”
The story got even funnier when Jade revealed what she was wearing – a giant foam champagne bottle.
“It’s quite ironic that you wore a champagne bottle,” he laughed, as Jamie and Leigh tried to picture the scene. “Yeah, but it was a costume, a giant foam one,” Leigh added, sending everyone into fits of laughter.
The conversation then turned to another surprising revelation. Emma read from their show notes: “I once waxed Britney Spears.”
Leigh immediately guessed who it was, while Jade added: “There’s only one person that could be, our beauty therapist…” Jamie jumped in to ask for details: “Jill, was it you? Did she ask for it or did you suggest it?”
Jill Carter confirmed the story, explaining: “In my earlier days I was a beauty therapist, and I worked at a very famous hotel and spa. Britney Spears was staying there. I could never do this job again with me blabbing, but she wanted a bikini wax, so I did it for her.”
Leigh couldn’t resist adding some humour: “And she’d never had one before! Teen wolf!” which had the whole group laughing out loud.
