Margot Robbie talks Kylie and Colin Farrell on The Batman 2 on Radio 2

Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell joined Scott Mills on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning.

Margot learned live on air that Kylie Minogue has named her as her dream choice to play her in a future biopic.

Scott revealed Kylie’s comments to Margot, who was visibly surprised: “She did not?! Why has nobody ever told me this before?! That is wild information,” she said. “I am beyond honoured. Of course I could not, I can’t sing like Kylie. I don’t like it when people can’t actually sing and do a singing movie you know.”

Robbie recalled Kylie being the first artist she ever saw live, attending the KylieFever Tour in Sydney.

The Oscar-nominated star spoke warmly about recently meeting Kylie for the first time, describing her as “the warmest and coolest person ever” after spending time together over cocktails.

She and Scott agreed she would only take the role if she could “do Kylie justice.”

Farrell also revealed two unexpected stories during the interview. He told Scott he was once scouted by Louis Walsh for Boyzone in the 1990s, after being spotted in Dublin’s The Pod nightclub wearing leather trousers and a rubber T-shirt.

After auditioning with Careless Whisper, Farrell was later told by Walsh: “It’s not going to work.” Laughing, Farrell admitted: “It worked out for everyone!”

He also confirmed he has read the script for The Batman 2. While keeping details under wraps, Farrell praised director Matt Reeves’ writing as “extraordinary” and revealed he only has two scenes in the film following his extensive work on The Penguin series for HBO.

The pair also discussed their new film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. Robbie said she celebrated the London premiere with karaoke in Chinatown until 1am, while Farrell praised her as “one of the best actors of our time.”
