Anastacia, Belinda Carlisle and Perrie Edwards join Scott Mills

Anastacia, Belinda Carlisle and Perrie Edwards joined Scott Mills this morning for Big Guest Friday on BBC Radio 2 Breakfast, with stories ranging from personal to major live performances.

The trio covered everything from Taylor Swift’s recent engagement to Belinda’s use of breathwork and Perrie’s unique “La-la room.”

Both Belinda and Anastacia are also gearing up to perform at next weekend’s Radio 2 in the Park in Chelmsford, which promises one of the biggest live events of the year for fans of music and audio.

Alongside the guest interviews, Scott Mills gave Jessie J’s brand-new single Believe in Magic its exclusive first radio play. He also confirmed that Jessie J remains on the line-up for Radio 2 in the Park next Saturday despite postponing her planned tour for further cancer treatment.

“We are loving new Jessie J music, so glad she’s back,” Mills told listeners, adding that the star was tuned in to the programme live.

Jessie J’s candid update about her health was shared on her social channels last night. Mills reassured fans that while the singer’s tour dates will move, her Chelmsford appearance is secured.

He highlighted her strong connection to the Radio 2 audience, recalling her moving tribute at the memorial show for Steve Wright earlier this summer, which is available on BBC Sounds.

Listeners were among the first to hear Believe in Magic on air, as Mills introduced it by saying: “This is Jessie J’s new track – she’s listening now – this is Believe in Magic, brand new to Two.”

With Big Guest Friday bringing three major artists into the studio and an exclusive track debut, the morning show gave fans a preview of what’s ahead for Radio 2 in the Park.

For Anastacia and Belinda, it means a return to the stage for one of the UK’s biggest outdoor audio celebrations, while Perrie Edwards continues to tease new music of her own.
