Latest audience figures show BBC Radio 2 still most popular station
The latest radio listening figures from industry body, RAJAR show that BBC Radio 2 is still the UK’s most popular station.
Radio 2’s audience remained static at 13.3 million for Q3 2024 compared to Q2 2024. Zoe Ball continues to have the biggest breakfast show in the UK with 6.3 million listeners, down from 6.6 million last quarter.
Vernon Kay’s mid-morning radio show remains the nation’s favourite, increasing on the quarter to 6.8 million listeners.
Elsewhere, BBC Radio 5 Live, Boom Radio, GB News and Radio X had a record quarter. 5 Live now reach 6 million weekly listeners, Boom Radio has over 700,000 listening weekly, GB News Radio is up to 611,000 and Radio X has more than 2.3 million listeners tuning in every week, with 1.1m of those listening to Chris Moyles at Breakfast.
Ken Bruce at Greatest Hits Radio has over 4 million weekly listeners which is up from 3.7 million last year, while the station itself has 7.4 million weekly listeners, down from 7.5 million last quarter, but up by 12.9% from the same period last year.
Heart has strengthened its position as the number one commercial radio brand with more than 12.99 million weekly listeners, having added 1.6 million in the past year.
The Capital brand had its highest ever number at 9.7 million weekly listeners, adding 1.7 million listeners in the last year. Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Siân Welby reaches 2.96 million listeners, adding 151,000 listeners in the last quarter.
