BBC’s coverage of Glastonbury includes Radio 4 being there this year!
Plans for the BBC’s coverage of the Glastonbury Festival have been announced and even Radio 4 will be there.
It takes place from Wednesday 21 – Sunday 25 June with performances from Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses, Elton John, Lizzo, Blondie, Fatboy Slim, Fred Again.., Kelis, Lewis Capaldi, Måneskin, Raye, Yusuf / Cat Stevens, Wizkid and many more.
Coverage on BBC radio will include Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour broadcasting from Worthy Farm for the first time.
Radio 1, Radio 1 Dance and 1Xtra will be the event across the weekend with DJ sets from Danny, Pete, Sarah, Jasper Tygner and Carly Wilford. Vick Hope and Jordan North will broadcast live with all the action for Radio 1. Tiffany Calver and Kenny Allstar will be there for 1Xtra, plus DJ sets from 1Xtra presenters and some of the station’s favourite artists.
On BBC Radio 2, Zoe Ball will broadcast live from Glastonbury on the Friday, Dermot O’Leary presents a Glastonbury special on Saturday, Jo Whiley will be live on Sunday before OJ Borg presents a show featuring Elton John’s headline set live.
As the radio home of Glastonbury, 6 Music provides All Day Glastonbury coverage from Wednesday 21 – Sunday 25 June with special programmes and features, plus a number of live broadcasts from the festival.
The BBC continues to be Glastonbury Festival’s exclusive, multimedia broadcast partner, following a recent multi-year extension. The difference this year is that BBC Radio 4 makes its Glastonbury debut by broadcasting Woman’s Hour from Worthy Farm for the first time on Friday 23rd June, 10am-11am with Anita Rani bringing listeners the latest from the festival.
