Sam Ryder sings in the shower on Chris Stark’s first day on Capital

Chris Stark made his debut on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp this morning and was checked out by the team to make sure he’d fit in.

Roman and the team FaceTimed contacts in Chris’s phone for job references and managed to catch Sam Ryder.

When asked to sum up Chris, the Eurovision star said that he was an absolute legend, a kind hearted soul always routing new artists and just a lovely bloke!

Sam revealed that they’d caught him just as he was about to take a shower. Chris said that people always sound better singing in the shower and suggested it would make Sam sound at his very best.

“I can’t promise anything,” Sam responded. “I knew this wouldn’t be a normal call.”

Sam jumped into the shower and started serenading the team whilst taking a shower live on air!

Chris also revealed he’d been nervous about potentially sleeping through his alarm as he adjusts to breakfast hours, saying: “I didn’t sleep because I was too excited, it was Christmas sort of vibes, but also, I was just so scared of missing my alarm.

“And when it did go off, I got straight up and then I had to try and get out the house without waking anyone up.

“That’s a challenge that no one tells you about. The reverse burglary. You’ve got to sneak out and that’s hard! My little girl had laid it out like Home Alone, there was just little kids toys everywhere!”
