Special recognition award for DJ Janice Long to be presented at the ARIAS
The audio and radio industry awards, the ARIAS 2022 takes place next Tuesday, 3 May at London’s Adelphi Theatre and will include a special recognition award for the late Janice long.
Janice Long left a huge legacy in British broadcasting. Her death at Christmas hit the hearts of everyone in the radio industry and her loyal listeners, who had followed her career for over 40 years.
The first woman to have a daily music show on Radio 1 – who went on to present at XFM, Radio 2, 6Music, BBC Local Radio, Radio Wales and Greatest Hits Radio – Janice was a true trailblazer and paved the way for women in broadcasting.
Looking back over her illustrious career, Radio 2’s Zoe Ball will present Janice’s family with the inaugural Pioneer Award at this year’s ceremony.
We’re proud to say that trailblazing DJ Janice Long will be honoured with the Pioneer Award at this year’s #UKARIAS.
