Emma and Matt Willis have revealed they were confident Love Is Blind couple Megan Jupp and Kieran Holmes Darby would stay together.
The presenters joined Capital Breakfast with Will Manning this morning to discuss the second series of Love Is Blind and reflected on watching the couples’ relationships develop.
Megan and Kieran are the only married couple still together from the second series, with the pair saying having fun together has been important to their relationship.
Asked what they believe has kept them together, Megan said: “Having fun.”
Kieran explained that while they took the experiment seriously at times, they also made sure they enjoyed themselves throughout the process.
“We always say having so much fun together, we didn’t take the experiment, we took it seriously at times but we made sure during that period that we had loads of fun,” he said.
Emma Willis said she and husband Matt were unsure about the other couples when they watched the series, but immediately felt Megan and Kieran were well matched.
Emma said: “We were very unsure about the others, but we said they have got to because I’d be devastated, they are just perfect for each other.”
Matt agreed, saying the couple did not appear to have the kind of growing issue that could eventually cause problems in a relationship.
He explained: “You can usually see when something is going to become a bigger deal, normally one thing grows and grows and grows but there was nothing about these two.”
Emma and Matt also offered advice to anyone considering applying for the dating experiment, stressing that contestants should have genuine intentions rather than simply wanting television exposure.
Emma said applicants should be “in it for the right reasons” and genuinely want to get married, while Matt added: “If you want to go on it to look sexy and be on tele there are other shows you can go on that are more fitting for you.”
Megan and Kieran’s relationship ultimately proved to be the one Emma and Matt were confident about, with Emma saying it would have been a “really big shock” if they had decided not to marry.
