BTS have revealed they struggled with loneliness during their time completing military service.
Speaking exclusively to Jordan North during Capital’s A Very British Interview at Kensington Palace, the global stars reflected on being reunited after nearly three years apart as they prepare to release their comeback album Arirang.
The group joined Jordan for afternoon tea, where they looked back on life away from each other and shared how it felt to finally come together again.
Asked what it was like reuniting after being apart for three years, Jung Kook turned the question to Jimin before Jin summed up the moment, saying, “It felt like a family reunion.”
Jordan then asked whether they had missed each other or enjoyed having some time apart.
J-hope made it clear there was no doubt, replying, “Of course.”
Jung Kook agreed, adding, “A hundred per cent.”
The conversation also turned to the members’ military service, with Jordan asking who looked the most different after completing their duties.
Jimin immediately pointed to V, saying, “V looked so different in the military. He really beefed up.”
In the wider interview, the band also spoke about the challenges of spending such a long period apart, including moments of loneliness during military service before they were able to reunite.
The appearance marks one of the group’s biggest UK interviews as they celebrate being back together and prepare for the next chapter with new music.
