Jordan North strips back for Soccer Aid photoshoot on Capital Breakfast

Capital Breakfast presenter Jordan North has revealed he took part in a tongue-in-cheek photoshoot to raise his profile ahead of this year’s Soccer Aid for UNICEF match.

The broadcaster discussed the shoot live on air with co-hosts Chris Stark and Siân Welby, after joking that he had barely featured in the official promotion for the charity football event despite being part of the line-up.

Jordan said he had noticed he was missing from billboards and even radio trails on his own station, prompting his Breakfast teammates to take matters into their own hands.

Siân joked that Jordan should have been front and centre in the campaign, saying: “Why isn’t he on every billboard? Why isn’t he being interviewed non-stop? He should be the star.”

Chris teased that Jordan’s problem was being “too quiet and dignified”, suggesting he needed to embrace a more attention-grabbing approach if he wanted to become one of the recognisable faces of Soccer Aid.

Jordan responded by insisting he was simply “private”, before admitting he had not appeared in much of the official marketing for the event.

The team then revealed they had organised their own alternative photoshoot, with Siân describing the experience as one of the funniest things they had done together.

She said: “Me and Chris are taking matters into our own hands and yesterday we did a photoshoot. I’ve never laughed so much.”

Chris admitted he eventually walked away from the session, joking that the concept was not for him personally as Jordan posed for the camera.

This year’s Soccer Aid for UNICEF, which takes place on Sunday 31 May will once again feature celebrities, presenters and former footballers raising money for charity.
