Lisa Kudrow rules out Friends return in Hits Radio chat
Actress Lisa Kudrow has said a return to Friends is unlikely during a candid interview on Hits Radio.
Speaking to Fleur East and Will Best, Lisa discussed the new series of her HBO Max show The Comeback, before the conversation turned to her iconic role as Phoebe Buffay in Friends.
Fleur East shared how the series helped her through a difficult period in her career, describing it as an escape and a source of comfort during a low point.
Lisa acknowledged the show’s lasting impact, saying she has heard many similar stories from fans and pointing to studies suggesting Friends can help improve emotional wellbeing for people experiencing mild to moderate depression.
However, she ruled out the possibility of a spin-off or return for her character, explaining that the appeal of the show was tied to a specific stage in the characters’ lives.
She said the original series captured the transition into adulthood, adding that revisiting those characters now would not have the same effect.
The interview highlighted both the cultural legacy of Friends and the continued connection audiences feel with its cast decades after it first aired.
Lisa’s appearance also promoted the latest series of The Comeback, bringing her back into the spotlight for a new generation of viewers.
