Wyatt Wendels launches epic charity challenge Road to Rockstock

Planet Rock’s Wyatt Wendels has started an extraordinary seven-hundred-mile journey in aid of the Cash for Kids charity.

Wyatt is taking on one of his toughest charity challenges yet, leaving the studio behind to run, walk and cycle from London to South Wales on a ten-day route designed to raise money the charity supporting young people across the UK.

Over the course of this year’s challenge, titled “Wyatt’s Road to Rockstock”, he will cover ultra marathon distances, demanding hikes and hundreds of cycling miles while travelling through London, the Midlands, Yorkshire, the Lake District and Scotland before looping back down through Wales towards Trecco Bay.

The challenge follows last year’s one hundred and eighty mile “Walk to Rockstock”, which raised fifty seven thousand pounds and funded early intervention mental health and wellbeing support for children and teenagers who rely on Cash for Kids and its partner organisations.

This year Wyatt hopes to raise even more money and awareness, using the challenge to highlight the support the charity provides for young people who are struggling.

Wyatt has spoken openly about his own mental health journey and says the reasons behind this year’s mission go far beyond physical endurance, explaining that he wants the challenge to shine a light on the resilience and hope Cash for Kids aims to give young people.

“There have been times when I’ve struggled to find the light. Music, movement and the people in my life helped me pull through – and that’s what Cash for Kids is all about,” he said.

He added: “They give young people hope, support, and the belief that they matter. This challenge is my way of paying that forward. It’s going to hurt a lot, but if it helps one more child get the support they need, it’s worth every step.”

Wyatt is due to arrive at Trecco Bay on 28 November for the start of Planet Rockstock, marking the end of what he says will be his most demanding journey yet and a powerful reminder of the difference listeners can make by backing Cash for Kids throughout the year.
