Kate Garraway calls Celebrity Traitors a “flabbergasting” experience

Smooth Radio’s Kate Garraway joined her friend and colleague Jenni Falconer to talk about her time on The Celebrity Traitors, ahead of tonight’s series finale.

Garraway described the experience in her own words as “flabbergasting” and “brilliant,” praising the show for its fun, engaging and immersive nature.

Kate admitted she occasionally suspected fellow contestants Cat Burns and Alan Carr of being Traitors, joking that Alan could be “a big dog” given his fame and over-the-top personality.

She also reflected on how the experience acted as a “really good reset” after a period of feeling “enclosed” while caring for her late husband Derek and dealing with grief.

Kate said the show allowed her to indulge in conversations with fellow contestants and enjoy moments of silliness, offering a liberating break from everyday responsibilities.

Discussing her children’s reactions, Kate revealed that Darcey and Bill found her outfits and hats hilarious, using them as “leverage” to tease her, while also enjoying the drama of the game itself.

She noted that the public response has been enthusiastic, with viewers of all ages quoting lines from the show and engaging in the conversation around each episode.

Looking ahead, Garraway suggested potential contestants for a second series, including Jenni Falconer, Alison Hammond, Susanna Reid and the Good Morning Britain team, imagining the fun and clever sleuthing they could bring to the castle!

Kate Garraway presents weekdays from 10am to 1pm on Smooth Radio.
