Grant Nicholas reveals Robbie Williams and Buck Rogers stories on Radio X

Feeder frontman Grant Nicholas joined The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X this morning, where he revealed two surprising stories about the band’s music.
Nicholas told Moyles that one of his songs almost ended up on Robbie Williams’ latest album. “I almost got a few songs on his new record,” he explained. “But apparently, he liked the verse but not the chorus. So I kept it for Feeder.”
He also reflected on the band’s 2001 hit Buck Rogers, admitting it was originally written for another act. “The whole thing was an accident,” he said. “I wrote it for another band, and it became this massive hit for us. That is the truth of it.”
Asked who the track was originally intended for, Nicholas revealed it was written with American rock band SR-71 in mind, while producer Gil Norton was working with them.
Although Nicholas admitted Buck Rogers is not necessarily his proudest composition, he said he enjoys the energy it still brings to live performances. “I love the reaction it gets,” he added. “It’s a fun three minutes.
